It’s nice to know you can grab that double-whip latte, head down to the computer lab, fire up KeyShot and churn out some impressive project visuals. There are so many design and engineering schools adding KeyShot to their curriculum. It’s exciting to see (and exciting to see what is being created!) Week after week we have colleges, universities, preparatory, charter schools and high schools integrating KeyShot. Of course, this gives the students a leg up, allowing them to create those stunning project visuals and portfolios.
A few of the schools that have recently adopted KeyShot’s education program include Iowa State University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of San Francisco, University of Houston, Auburn University, University of Washington School of Art, Konstfack – University College of Arts and Design and NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano. Phew! There are many others that have already been using KeyShot and we asked them about how the students are reacting.
What we were delighted to find is that KeyShot breaks down the barrier of creating photorealistic images, helps students speed up the design development process and eliminates the struggle students have with traditional rendering software.
At Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia, John McCabe is Professor of Industrial Design and Owen Foster is Department Chair, Industrial Design. John told us,
The students and faculty enjoy the quick response and extremely intuitive controls in KeyShot. This has allowed them to feel as if they can play with the program, as it helps them explore the perfect rendering.”
Shawn Moghadam, Transportation Designer and Instructor at Art Center College of Design says,
I prefer KeyShot because it is the ONLY high-end rendering application I learned on my own, in one day! KeyShot is similar to Apple and Facebook when it comes to human factors and user friendliness and that is exactly why I use it and teach it.”
Cam Frith, of the Industrial Design Division at University of Alberta gets straight to the point,
KeyShot is exactly what I was hoping for: Easy to use and lightning fast.”
You may know about the education license available for $95/year to students. It can be purchased immediately right here. Schools can also purchase Floating Lab Packs for 20, 30, 40 licenses or more. Lab packs come with KeyShot Pro, Animation, all upgrades for the year and the new KeyShotVR interactive visualization add-on. Questions? Just ask!
